Plenty Plenty Nonsense

Someone should warn Okiro. First, he said he wanted to vet Nollywood scripts to stop them from portraying the police in a bad light. Who doesn't know the police is bad. Hiss, hiss. Now he wants to set up anti-terrorist squad. The thives and militants that are harassing hardworking Nigerians everyday, are they not worthy of an anti-something squad?
Last weekend, Igwe was robbed at gun point on his way home. They stripped him and his brother of everything.Five nasty looking men wielding five nasty guns. And Okiro and his men where busy brainstorming on how to deal with Al-quaeda.Nonesense!

Someone should also warn Soludo. He should stop shooting his mouth about how Nigerian graduates are unemployable and explain to me why he introduced coins knowing fully well we weren't going to use them. How much was spent producing the coins? Was it another ploy to bleed Nigeria? And while he is at it, he should also let me know why his highly capitalised banks seem to always need money and more money. Almost all the banks have had two IPO's now, very soon they will return to the public a third time . Inspite of this, their marketers are always about town, looking for more deposits. What exactly is the money for, when one can't even get loans,my sister battled with one of the banks for months trying to secure a loan, they finally approved 1m(less than she asked for) and wanted her to pay it back in three months. It was for a movie and they knew it, how do you make a film and distribute it in three months. She told them to shove it up you know where. I thought banks had pledged to help SME's. He should explain to me in very simple terms since I went to a Nigerian university and won't understand big 'grammar'. All the politicians, ministers, and their entire generation, who studied abroad, how have they improved Nigeria? Every knows the problem but no one can fix it. Nonsense!

PLease also warn SEC or NSE, whatever body is in charge. Chicken republic decided to go public, with my hard earned little money I bought some of the shares, three months later, they return investors' money saying they had changed their minds? Imaginez, so what did they do with people's money in three months? They probably fixed it and reaped interest. Should SEC not have a law to protect against such? Warn themooooo.Nonsense!

Finally, please kindly inform Yardy that he is the President of Nigeria and not Britain or the States. He gave an interview to financial times on his plans for the future, what happened to the Nigerian Media? It is Nigerians at home that are desperate for change: the nigerians who are constantly afraid for their lives, who have no power supply,no adequate health services,no good roads,do these people read FT? He thinks perhaps he is too much for the local press, he shouldn't worry, they will soon put him in his place, OBJ did more than that. Nonsense!

On the bright side, Igwe got his bank and ID cards back.He was robbed at Yaba, got a call from someone who claimed he saw them on the floor at Ketu, may have been a good Nigerian or one of the thieves with a conscience. My sister in law was robbed once, she got her cards sent to her home address by speed post.No kidding!

Permit me to say nonsense and concobility. I was so happy when Soludo started the "handle Naija money with care advert and penality". I was told by a friend that thy show Soludo on TV at a party where money was sprayed!!!

I would rather see a movie teaching the police how things ought to be...

"Alleged" attacks by Al-qaeda is not a priority in that country, let them deal with the armed robbers' situation first.
Portraying Naija police in a bad light ke?Is he serious, abi it's more like portraying them as they are

girl! you forgot to warn whoever the idiot who banned spraying is. i no we are all 'educated" these days but i LOVE LOVE our culture. other people only wish they had half of wat we have. i dont c how spraying could hurt the economy. when i was younger i LOVED spraying. i hated dancing man, but i would make a ton of money from just standing around my parents friends who hadnt seen me in years......then enter yaba the next day.

seriously tho, i hate the idea of another aspect of our once rich culture being thrown away because of a "western" opnion. o look i just crushed up a naira note then stepped on it. come arrest soludo!! or whoever is in charge.....

i like the way you wrote this...funny...the police can't handle the truth abi?...i remember one time trying to photograph an officer accepting bribe on the road...my mom nearly killed me...but i felt it would have been a great pic...who would dispute their portrayal then?...

...the naija govt is sometimes as stupid as the us one...fighting which al qaeda?...naija does not realize that these people don't care about black people?...what would al qaeda gain from bombing naija...look at sudan...the fairer govt has been oppressing killing the darker sudanese in darfur for how long now...and still, the rest of the world (see western society) waits...the killings in south africa are not new...but it is now that anyone is saying anything...nonesense...abeg, naija should leave this war on terror for the westerners...it is their war alone...we have no business in that one...

...i never got the questionnaire o!...

Back again, this time to read the post. Security is one of my biggest issues in Nigeria. The last time, coming from the airport, my friend had to go James Bond in order to lose a car that was following us from airport. Whenever I am in Lagos, I now try as much as possible to be home by 7.

Do people really take loans these days? I have been wondering about what the banks are doing with/are going to do with the money they have been raising/ Someone thinks that it is going to be the thing that eventually drives down the lending rate. But with a two-figure lending rate from the Soludo-led central bank, what can individual banks really do?

Well, I dont quite agree with you about the FT bit. I read the interview, and it was nice to see a journalist ask REAL questions, not just grovelling and asking where the backside hole is. On another note, I think our image is important, in many ways - and I dont just mean in the way that Obj was busy trying to please everybody - so I think that the president didnt do bad by granting an interview to one of the most influential financial dailies in the world.

Loomnie.

...'tis most unfortunate that our public office holders (once efficient) once elected to that office, they brain cells begin to touch. Is it just Anti-Terrorist Squad?....even little attention to details he's not been able to nip in the bud. Rememeber, they are not Nigerian Police Force anymore but, Nigerian Police? Yet still no one seems to realise that their acronym should not be NPF but, NP. Personally, i would rather not give these 'men' a hoot.

Just a lil' while.....we (the Nigerian Future) are going to flush 'em out. Let's just keep hope alive.

Naija police sucks for real! Yesterday hubby and i were on the highway and the police had a checkpoint there. WIthout stopping anyone, a police man carried a gun over his shoulders and pointed it straight at the road...what does that mean? Does it make sense? Are we all criminals? They really suck!

wow..all this nonsense and don't be silly.Nigeria would rather let the whole world see their fake facade and bring out their dirty laundry to fellow Nigerians. Just like the "happy couple" who everyone outside thinks has a perfect marriage but the family knows there is serious damage going on...domestic violence etc.
Thanks for stopping by my blog...
